Photo Exhibit Fundraiser - Unseen Atlanta

When we catch a glimpse of folks who don't look like us or don't look the way we think they should, sometimes we just keep going and don't give them another thought. Famed photographer Al Clayton did just the opposite. He looked in the corners and on the fringes of our town and found some great subjects that he turned into stunning photos.

This exhibition, "Unseen Atlanta", will focus on photos from Bum Raps, a collection taken of folks who were homeless, augmented by images of Club Kids and Drag Queens—all from the 1980s & 1990s. You will be able to see (and purchase!) moving photos from Al's book, "Still Hungry in America," which brought attention to and dramatically changed our country's attitude about poverty and hunger. This exhibit will also feature some never before seen prints of Al’s photos featured in the newly released Ken Burns' documentary "Country Music." These wonderful images, with limited editions available for purchase, include private moments taken of Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, and Tammy Wynette, as well as other well-known musicians.

You better look twice. You never know what you might see...and it might just make you smile. :-) This event benefits Clifton Sanctuary Ministries, serving men who are homeless in Atlanta for 40 years.
